Esigen is delivered as a cloud-based service supported by a desktop application for macOS and Windows. Customers install the desktop application on their devices, while the core platform—signature generation logic, configuration tools, hosted viewer pages, and asset hosting—operates on Esigen’s cloud infrastructure.
This model means customers do not need to deploy or host any part of the service on their own servers or email systems. Email delivery remains entirely under the customer’s control.
Cloud-Based Architecture
Esigen operates on a centralized cloud architecture hosted on secure virtual private servers. This allows us to:
- deploy platform improvements centrally without customer-side server deployment;
- securely host signature assets and viewer pages;
- maintain consistent performance and reliability; and
- scale resources based on usage and subscription plans.
Each company operates within its own logical workspace, with branding assets, employee data, and signature configurations isolated from other customers.
Desktop Application Installation (No On-Prem Hosting Required)
Esigen requires the installation of the desktop application on supported macOS and/or Windows devices. However, Esigen does not require customers to install or deploy software on their own servers, email servers, or on-premise infrastructure.
- Email delivery remains under the customer’s existing email client/environment.
- Signatures are generated and exported for use in existing email clients; and
- Viewer pages and related assets are hosted by Esigen on company-specific subdomains.
This reduces IT overhead while preserving compatibility with existing email infrastructure.
Subscription-Based Access
Access to the platform is provided on a subscription basis (as described in the commercial terms). An active subscription is required to:
- create and manage company accounts;
- configure signature projects and employee profiles;
- upload and manage branding assets (logos, images, icons); and
- enable hosted viewer pages and related hosting features.
Subscription plans determine feature availability, capacity limits, and administrative controls.
Data Isolation and Customer Control
Each customer retains control of its data within the platform:
- Companies manage employee information and assets.
- Administrators control what appears in signatures and viewer pages.
- Viewer pages can be public or password-protected at the company’s discretion; and
- Data can be modified or deleted by company administrators at any time.
Esigen does not access or use customer data outside of providing and securing the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Hosting and Availability
The platform (including viewer pages and asset hosting) is operated on Esigen-managed infrastructure. We target high availability through modern hosting practices, and maintenance and updates are handled by Esigen. Temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, security updates, Marketplace release cycles, or external factors outside our reasonable control.
Customers are not required to maintain local mirrors or on-prem backups of the hosted viewer content to use the Service.
Security and Responsibility Model
As the service provider, Esigen is responsible for:
- platform availability and infrastructure maintenance;
- security of the application environment; and
- controlled access to administrative functionality.
Customers remain responsible for:
- the accuracy and lawfulness of uploaded data;
- internal access control and credential management; and
- configuration choices such as public vs password-protected viewer access.
Desktop Updates and Continuous Improvement
Because the platform is cloud-based and supported by a desktop application:
- Platform improvements and security updates are deployed centrally, and
- Desktop application updates are delivered through the Apple App Store (for macOS) and the Microsoft Store (for Windows), as applicable, subject to Marketplace release timing and user device settings.
This allows customers to benefit from ongoing improvements with minimal disruption to workflows.
